Job summary

Teacher Active Limited in Newark is seeking a proactive Learning Support Assistant to work across primary schools in Newark and surrounding areas. You will support pupils in the classroom, deliver targeted interventions and help create an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children, good communication, safeguarding understanding and a flexible approach to different settings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience within a primary school, nursery, SEN setting or similar environment.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Flexibility, reliability and a willingness to adapt to different settings.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils within the classroom to help them access their learning.
• Providing 1:1 support for children who need additional guidance.
• Working with small groups and delivering targeted learning interventions.
• Supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and other additional learning needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and participation in lessons.
• Building trusting relationships with pupils and promoting independence.
• Working closely with class teachers to support children's learning, development and wellbeing.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
