Job summary

The Copthorne Hotel Cardiff-Caerdydd is hiring a Casual Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen. You’ll help with food deliveries, storage, cleaning, and keeping work areas spotless, following hygiene and safety standards. We offer training where needed, a physical role for energetic individuals, and flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

The role pays £12.21 per hour (NLW) in Cardiff. Benefits include Life Assurance, Meals Provided on Duty, staff Discounts on accommodation

Qualifications

• Previous hotel experience desirable, though full training provided.
• Good communications skills with a positive and energetic nature.
• It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important.
• Flexible attitude to shifts – nights, weekends and/or holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in receiving and storing all food deliveries, ensuring proper storage and temperature checks per food safety standards.
• Ensuring daily and weekly deep cleaning tasks are completed and signed off in kitchen records.
• Following the correct date/day labelling system as directed by Head Chef.
• Keeping work area clean, safe, neat and tidy with a 'clean as you go' approach.
• Regularly checking crockery & utensils stocks to ensure sufficient supplies.
