Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide intervention support across primary schools in Gateshead and surrounding areas. The role starts in September 2026 and offers flexible supply work in various schools, delivering targeted sessions to support Maths, English and Phonics.

You will work with primary-aged pupils across EYFS to KS2, helping them build confidence and close learning gaps while collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure effective interventions.

Qualifications

• Must have qualifications and training for this role.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools.
• Experience delivering or supporting intervention programmes in Maths, English and Phonics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned intervention sessions to small groups of 4-6 pupils.
• Support children across Maths, English and Phonics.
• Help pupils build confidence, close learning gaps and make measurable progress.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers and school staff to ensure interventions are effective.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments while maintaining high standards of support.
