Job summary

Mansion House Surgery in Whitehaven is seeking a bank Practice Nurse with a specialism in asthma and COPD. Hours are negotiable, and the post offers flexible working patterns within a supportive, patient-centred GP practice serving over 7,700 patients in Copeland.

You will work under the supervision of the lead nurse, deliver evidence-based respiratory care, maintain patient records, and collaborate with a diverse clinical team including GPs, pharmacists and ANPs.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with NMC registration and current practice status.
• Asthma and COPD training completed or equivalent competency.
• Experience with EMIS patient record system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care focused on asthma and COPD management.
• Undertake screenings, patient education and health promotion activities.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records and coding in the EMIS system.
• Prioritise and manage own workload to support practice priorities.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and liaise with the nurse manager on nursing issues.
