Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a dedicated Infant Feeding Development Midwife to support pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families. You will mentor volunteers and deliver care across hospital, home and community settings to promote breastfeeding initiation and continuation.

The role involves coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, providing information, and ensuring adherence to UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards while working mainly daytime shifts with occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• SVQ III in Healthcare or equivalent experience.
• Breastfeeding training or willingness to undertake.
• Experience of working with volunteers.
• Experience of working with breastfeeding women.
• A driving licence is required; full UK/EU/EEA licence, access to a car & flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of high quality care to meet women’s needs.
• Assist clinicians within a variety of clinical settings as required.
• Carry out tasks as delegated by a registered midwife after appropriate training.
• Support families by providing information and support with initiation and sustainment of breastfeeding, including UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
