Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a General Practice Nurse to support regional primary care services in St. Austell. This role offers flexible sessional work within established GP clinics, suitable for nurses experienced in routine treatment room activity and day-to-day clinical operations.

You will assist local primary care teams with general nursing duties, clinical reviews, and patient-facing procedures in well-organised environments.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with relevant primary care experience.
• Strong treatment room competency.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to adapt to new practice environments quickly.
• Knowledge of common clinical systems beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Providing routine nursing support across GP clinic settings.
• Conducting wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Administering routine immunisations and vaccinations (if trained).
• Completing smear tests if cytology-trained.
• Supporting chronic disease management and care plan activity.
• Undertaking NHS Health Checks where required.
• Documenting clinical information accurately in digital systems.
