Job summary

Locums First is seeking GMC-registered General Practitioners for locum roles in Cowes. This flexible sessional work spans multiple primary care services, offering autonomy, variety and consistent weekly availability.

You will provide evidence-based GP care through urgent access appointments, routine reviews, telephone consultations and clinical triage within supportive teams and clear workflows.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered GP with current practicing status.
• Inclusion on NHS Performers List.
• Experience in GP, urgent care or community primary care settings.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments.
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage urgent and routine GP clinics across different primary care settings.
• Conduct telephone consultations and triage.
• Assess acute, chronic and undifferentiated presentations.
• Prescribe within scope and handle medication queries.
• Review results, referrals and follow-up actions.
• Record accurate clinical notes in service-specific systems.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams.
