Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered General Practitioner for locum sessions in Machen and surrounding areas. This flexible role offers sessional work across multiple primary care services, with autonomy, variety and stable weekly availability.

You will provide urgent access appointments, routine reviews, telephone triage and clinical decision-making in supportive teams, with clear workflows and emphasis on safe, high-quality patient care in diverse clinical environments.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered GP required.
• NHS Performers List inclusion desirable.
• Experience in GP, urgent care or community primary care settings.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments.
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
• Valid indemnity.

Responsibilities

• Managing urgent and routine GP clinics across different primary care settings.
• Conducting telephone consultations and triage.
• Assessing acute, chronic and undifferentiated presentations.
• Prescribing within scope and handling medication queries.
• Reviewing results, referrals and follow-up actions.
• Recording accurate clinical notes in service-specific systems.
• Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
