Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support regional primary care clinics throughout Usk. The role involves routine clinical tasks, patient-facing procedures and general support within GP clinic environments.

You will perform observations, assist with clinical tasks, and help run the clinic smoothly, contributing to safe and efficient patient care. Flexible shifts across weekday, evening and weekend sessions are available, for both short-term and ongoing placements.

Qualifications

• Experience as Healthcare Assistant in GP, community or NHS settings.
• Confident with routine patient observations.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Able to adapt to new clinics and workflows.
• Phlebotomy experience beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine clinical observations.
• Support treatment room tasks and basic procedures.
• Perform ECGs and routine health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy where trained.
• Record information accurately in clinical systems.
• Provide general assistance to nursing and clinical teams.
• Help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
