Job summary

Dignity Funeral Directors in the UK is seeking casual Funeral Service Operatives to support families during services and behind the scenes. The role offers flexible, sporadic hours with full training and uniform provided, ideal for occasional working and peak periods.

Responsibilities include assisting at services, driving hearses, and upholding ceremonial standards with empathy and discretion. Training and uniform supplied; driving is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Compassionate, empathetic and professional.
• Understands the importance of presentation and discretion.
• Physically capable of manual handling, including lifting and carrying.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible, including short-notice availability.
• Comfortable with direct contact with the deceased.

Responsibilities

• Assisting at funeral services: bearing coffins, setting up venues, and supporting mourners.
• Driving and operating specialist vehicles such as hearses and limousines.
• Representing Dignity Funeral Directors with professionalism and empathy.
• Providing respectful, discreet support to families on the day.
• Maintaining ceremonial standards in appearance, conduct and service delivery.
