Job summary

Intersurgical is seeking a proactive Building Maintenance PPM Operative to join our Site Services team. You will handle planned preventative maintenance, compliance testing, and general building upkeep to keep facilities safe and efficient.

Your role includes weekly fire alarm/sprinkler testing, emergency lighting checks, PAT, and inspections across plant rooms. You will record activities, raise defects, and support contractors while adhering to Health & Safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar maintenance role.
• Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Good practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
• PAT qualification or experience.
• Experience with fire alarm, fire sprinkler, emergency lighting or fire door inspections.
• Basic plumbing, electrical or mechanical maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and compliance testing.
• Perform weekly fire alarm and fire sprinkler testing.
• Test emergency lighting and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
• Conduct ladder/ladder inspections, drainage inspections and general plant room checks.
• Record maintenance activities and compliance checks; report defects.
• Support specialist contractors and ensure safety compliance at all times.
• Maintain safe working practices in line with Health & Safety procedures.
