Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons.
• Understanding of workshop safety and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Design Technology lessons to secondary pupils across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach topics such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, textiles, CAD/CAM and workshop activities.
• Encourage pupils to develop creativity, problem-solving and understanding of design processes.
• Follow existing lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning.
• Maintain health and safety procedures during practical lessons; ensure safe workshop environments.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse pupil needs and abilities.
• Support pupils in developing practical skills, evaluating ideas and creating solutions.
• Collaborate with school staff to support learning and uphold high educational standards.
