Job summary

HS2 Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Cost Manager to support the Head of Cost and Estimating at programme and contract levels, managing budgets, actual costs, forecasts and Earned Value Management to help deliver HS2.

You will verify cost performance data, develop contract level performance reports, align with cost processes, support project controls managers, collaborate with supply chain, and continually improve the Cost Performance function.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost management or project control within a major project.
• Experience in core project controls functions: baseline maintenance, schedule management, cost performance, change management, risk management, reporting and document control.
• Experience in producing performance reports covering budgets, EVM and forecasts on major projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and verify contract level cost performance and reflect current programme performance for reporting.
• Validate cost performance data submitted by delivery teams as part of communicating overall programme performance.
• Develop contract level performance reports, including EVM, forecasted costs and EAC pressures.
• Ensure cost performance team aligns with current business processes from a delivery perspective.
• Support the Senior Cost Manager to ensure adherence with cost processes and manage data/documents in corporate systems.
• Provide technical support to Project Controls Managers on cost performance and assist in managing contractor teams.
• Collaborate with supply chain to develop work-streams to enhance cost performance capabilities.
• Facilitate continuous improvement of Cost Performance within the Phase One programme and capture lessons learnt.
• Ensure contract teams follow governance policies and align with strategic objectives.
