Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Consultant General Surgeon for our Surgical Centre Gillingham on a permanent employed contract, working 1 day per week. You will deliver high-quality elective general surgical services and participate in audits and service development within a modern elective environment.

The role offers no on-call requirements, a focus on planned care, and opportunities for professional development within a multidisciplinary team. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified General Surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience after specialist training or registration.
• Experience in general surgery and elective surgical practice.
• Experience in laparoscopic procedures including hernia repair and cholecystectomy.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills with patients and colleagues.
• Experience in clinical audit and governance activities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality elective general surgical services.
• Undertake day-case and outpatient procedures.
• Manage hernia repairs, haemorrhoid treatments and minor procedures.
• Perform endoscopy where appropriate.
• Conduct pre- and post-operative assessments.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and discharge summaries.
• Participate in audit, governance and quality improvement activities.
• Support clinical quality standards and service development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver patient care.
• Contribute to staff education and development.
