Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Shepton Mallet is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist for a 22-hour per week employed contract. You will deliver general and regional anaesthesia across elective services and support Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology, while contributing to governance and education.

The role requires GMC Registration with Specialist Registration in Anaesthesia, FRCA or equivalent, ALS, and proven leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• GMC registration with specialist anaesthesia entitlement.
• FRCA or equivalent qualification required.
• ALS certification and extensive anaesthesia experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general and regional anaesthesia across elective services.
• Support orthopaedics, general surgery, ENT and ophthalmology procedures.
• Participate in pre-assessment clinics and patient optimisation.
• Take part in the consultant on-call rota.
• Contribute to governance, audit and service development; teaching duties.
