Job summary

Our client in Hereford is seeking a Bookkeeper to take ownership of the firm's bookkeeping function and to manage a portfolio of client records using standard accounting software.

You will handle invoices, bank reconciliations, journals and VAT returns, and assist with month-end and year-end reporting. Flexibility on hours complements a structured 37-hour week, and strong attention to detail is essential for accurate processing.

Qualifications

• accountancy Firm bookkeeping experience
• experience of bookkeeping software including cloud software
• organised with excellent attention to detail
• experience of double entry
• familiarity of VAT schemes
• experience of volume processing

Responsibilities

• Maintain bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients using standard accounting software.
• Process invoices, bank reconciliations, journals and VAT returns.
• Assist with month and year end bookkeeping and management reporting.
• Support clients with day to day bookkeeping queries
