Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford is seeking a Bank Registered Ward Nurse to support inpatient wards. You will deliver safe, compassionate nursing care from admission through discharge under a flexible, zero-hours contract, with shifts offered as needed.

You must hold an NMC registration, an Immediate Life Support qualification, and have right to work in the UK. Experience in a surgical ward and a proactive, team-based approach are desirable.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) qualification.
• At least 1 year's post-registration nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering safe, effective and compassionate nursing care.
• Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating patient care within a multidisciplinary team, from admission through to discharge.
• Admitting patients and completing all relevant clinical documentation.
• Monitoring patient progress and implementing appropriate care interventions.
• Recognising and escalating deteriorating patients using NEWS2 assessments.
• Supporting sepsis recognition and management.
• Undertaking pain, falls, pressure damage, nutrition and VTE risk assessments.
• Administering medications and maintaining accurate electronic patient records.
• Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Supporting the development of Healthcare Assistants, students and junior staff.
• Participating in audits, quality improvement and service development activities.
