Job summary

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy required (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with acute medical patients.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments of speech, language, communication and swallowing.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient goals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care.
• Educate patients and carers on therapy strategies and safe swallowing practices.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with policies.
• Recommend and support AAC tools where appropriate.
