Job summary

EMED Group is seeking a Bank Ambulance Care Assistant to join our Cambridge team on a bank contract. This role supports local communities by transporting service users to appointments and between facilities, in two-person crews or solo.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, be physically fit, and pass an Enhanced DBS check. You’ll be a calm, empathetic communicator, committed to patient care, and able to work well in a team. Full training and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Be committed to patient care and able to communicate in emotional situations.
• Be calm, careful, and a good team player. Pass an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to appointments and between facilities.
• Assist with end-of-life transport with empathy and sensitivity.
• Build rapport and communicate effectively with patients and relatives.
• Help with lifting and transferring patients in and out of the ambulance.
• Hand over patients to staff on arrival at centres or hospitals.
• Assist with moving patients between beds, chairs, and transport modes; maintain safety.
