Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident Maths Tutor to provide flexible 1:1 tuition in Chester. The role focuses on delivering personalised Maths tuition to learners who may have gaps in their knowledge, helping them build stronger understanding and confidence. Start date is October 2026 with ongoing duration and 5-15 hours per week.

The successful candidate will adapt lessons to individual needs, support problem-solving and numeracy, and work to encourage a positive attitude towards Maths.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in Maths.
• Experience teaching or tutoring young people.
• GCSE Maths teaching experience desirable.
• Ability to adapt explanations to different learning styles.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience supporting SEND learners would be advantageous.
• Relevant teaching qualification or tutoring experience desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional child-related references.
