Job summary

Wishford Schools is seeking a Flexi Nursery Practitioner for Sandcastles Nursery, part of St Faith’s Prep School in the Kent countryside. The role offers a 0-hour contract for 12 months, with a salary up to £13.25 per hour depending on skills and experience.

The successful candidate will work within the Dolphin and Turtle Rooms (2–3s) and Starfish Room (pre‑Reception), delivering age‑appropriate activities, maintaining a safe learning environment, and supporting the room leader while promoting

Qualifications

• An excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Experience in planning inspiring activities for children aged 0-5 to explore and enjoy.
• Have a completed Early Years Level qualification (Level 2 or above) (not essential).
• Be confident in creating a stimulating environment that enables children to become confident learners.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to quickly build relationships with the children and their parents.

Responsibilities

• To plan and deliver a range of age-appropriate activities focusing on each individual child’s interests.
• To ensure that a safe, stimulating environment is maintained for children while overseeing the implementation of activities.
• To work alongside the staff team to ensure that the Nursery’s ethos is being fulfilled.
• To work with all staff in promoting good staff practices across the Nursery and always ensure the safety of the children and their environment.
• To liaise with and fully support your room leader.
• To ensure that all child development records are updated, where applicable.
• To discreetly attend to young children’s toileting needs.
• To adhere to all nursery policies on safeguarding, health and safety and food hygiene etc.
