Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Vehicle Maintenance Unit is seeking a Workshop Technical Receptionist to be a key member of our fleet team. You will be the first point of contact, coordinating workshop activity, managing repairs, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring records and service standards are maintained.

You’ll work with technicians, supervisors and departments to keep the fleet available for essential frontline services, with opportunities for personal and professional development

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Confident communication with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Enjoys working as part of a team while taking ownership of responsibilities.
• Experience in customer service, administration, scheduling, logistics, or vehicle maintenance environments (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Be the main point of contact for customers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate workshop workloads and priorities.
• Support vehicle servicing, repairs, warranty claims, and safety recall management.
• Maintain accurate fleet maintenance and compliance records.
• Liaise with suppliers and monitor contract performance.
• Support audit compliance and data integrity.
• Work with technicians, supervisors, managers, and departments to keep vehicles available for frontline services.
