Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Ayr is seeking a Fleet Wash Team Leader to coordinate the daily operations of our valet sites. You will support the branch manager, organise staff rotas, travel to various sites, and ensure vehicles are clean, well-presented and customer-ready.

This role suits a proactive, detail-focused team player who can lead by example and uphold health and safety standards in a busy, physical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Fleet Wash team to run daily operations.
• Coordinate staff rotas and ensure coverage across sites.
• Oversee vehicle cleaning to a high standard, both interior and exterior.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and PPE guidance.
• Maintain equipment, report defects, and order supplies as needed.

We’re recruiting a flexible and hardworking Fleet Wash Team Leader to work in our Citroen branch in Ayr.

Hours

Full time: Monday – Thursday 8am - 5.30pm and Friday 8am – 4.30pm

About the role

As a Fleet Wash Team Leader, you’ll be a key part of the everyday smooth running of our valet sites. From supporting the branch manager to organising the staff rota and ordering materials, you’ll help to run the show. You will travel to various sites throughout the week and will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles are clean, well-presented and appealing to the customer.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has meticulous attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets

Essential skills

• Great communication skills and a friendly professional approach
• High levels of organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to work well on your own initiative and as part of a team
• The ability to motivate staff to reach targets
• Understanding of the importance of excellent customer service
• A full UK driving licence
• Flexibility to cover extra hours when required
