Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for fleet vehicles in Lancaster. This workshop-based role involves hands-on repairs, producing damage reports, and working with the hire team on maintenance planning.

You will inspect returned vehicles, estimate repairs for invoicing, and have access to overtime, a bonus scheme, and progression opportunities. A mechanical or welding background is preferred, with commuting distance to Lancaster.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Fleet Vehicles)

£15.00 PH – £18.00 PH (£36,000 – £43,000 OTE) + Bonus + Overtime + Progression

Do you have a mechanical or welding background, or something similar? Are you looking for a varied, workshop-based role where you will own the fleet maintenance process within a business that provides multiple routes of progression, alongside access to regular overtime and bonuses to advance your career?

On offer is the opportunity to join a market-leading engineering business. They manufacture, sell, hire, and maintain bespoke engineering storage equipment and more. They are looking to grow their team, supporting you with training in bespoke equipment to help you develop your career further, either electrically or mechanically.

In this role you will oversee the returning hire vehicles and inspect them for wear or defects, producing reports to determine cost responsibility by distinguishing between customer damage and routine maintenance. You will provide repair estimates to assist with invoicing and preform hands on repairs within the workshop.

This role would suit someone with a Mechanical background or similar looking to join a company that will providing training to upskill and offer multiple pathways of progression.
