5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Fleet Operations Driver Attendant in West Bridgford/Nottingham. You will undertake passenger transport functions within Fleet Operations, ensuring service requirements and customer needs are met.

The role requires a full category D driving licence, manual handling, first aid, ability to work unsupervised, and experience transporting passengers, including vulnerable people, with strong time management. Training provided where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Fleet operations service plans and objectives.
  • Safely transport passengers.
  • Promote passenger safety and welfare, including wheelchair users.
  • Maintain vehicle safety and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required vehicle operation documentation.
  • Wear PPE as issued.
  • Provide support to Day Services management as needed.
  • Operate fleet vehicles in emergency/urgent situations.
  • Collect fares, issue tickets, and account for monies.
  • Ensure high standards of vehicle cleanliness.
  • Meet hours regulations and use tachographs where appropriate.

About the job Fleet Operations Driver Attendant
Job Purpose

To undertake a range of passenger transport functions within Fleet Operations, ensuring effective provision in line with service requirements and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personally and through team members assist to deliver the service plans and objectives for the Fleet operations team.
  • To undertake the safe transportation of all passengers.
  • To have regard for the general welfare of passengers and to promote their safety.
  • To ensure compliance with safe practice in respect of all passenger particularly wheelchair users.
  • To maintain and operate vehicles in accordance with policies, procedures and issued Guidance.
  • To complete all documentation related to vehicle operations as required.
  • To wear protective clothing and PPE as issued.
  • To provide support services as directed by the Day Services management when working within the Day Centre.
  • To operate any fleet vehicles as required particularly in emergency/urgent situations.
  • To operate the nominated communication system as required.
  • Collect fares, passes, issue tickets and account for monies taken in line with NCC policy.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of all vehicles is maintained to a high standard.
  • To meet all legislative requirements regarding drivers, hours regulations, including the use of tachographs where appropriate.
Key Accountabilities
  • To be accountable for all fleet vehicles.
  • To alert Fleet Operations management of any issues or concerns that may affect service provision and safe operation of vehicles.
  • To alert Fleet operations management of any health and safety issues affecting safe operation of transport
  • To adhere to key operational procedures at all times
  • To undertake all training commensurate with the post
  • To report any concerns relating to service users in our care to either Fleet Operations or day Services management.
  • To pay any fares taken with way bill from Ticket machine into Agreed location.
Person Specification
Education and Knowledge
  • A full endorsement free driving licence that includes category D Licence
  • Manual Handling training
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Emergency First Aid Qualification
  • Wheelchair securing knowledge
Experience
  • Experience in the transportation of passengers
  • Minimum of 4 years, driving experience.
  • Experience in working to tight schedules
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people
Personal skills and general competencies

  • Works efficiently and effectively and actively looks for ways of improving services and outcomes for customers.
  • Works well with colleagues but also able to work on their own initiative.
