Job summary

Salford City Council’s Vehicle Management Services is recruiting a Skilled Mechanic/MOT Tester at Turnpike Depot Eccles. The role involves carrying out maintenance on a fleet of HGVs, light vehicles and specialised equipment within a busy service.

You must hold a current driving licence; LGV category C is desirable but not essential. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds (or equivalent) are preferred, or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Must hold current driving license; LGV category C desirable but not essential.
• Ideally NVQ Level 3 and/or City & Guilds for vehicle maintenance or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance to HGV, light vehicles and specialised equipment.
• Maintain fleet including vans, trailers, road sweepers and 26-ton refuse vehicles.
• Provide quality customer service with clear written and oral communication.
