Job summary

Creagh Concrete is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee a large mixed fleet, including lorries, vans, forklifts, trailers and related equipment. You will ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

Reporting to senior management, you will drive preventative maintenance, monitor utilisation and costs, and foster strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fleet manager or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HGV fleet management, transport legislation, and operator licence compliance.
• Experience managing forklifts and materials handling equipment.
• Excellent understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop management practices.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience in controlling costs.
• Proficiency in fleet management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience of telematics, fleet tracking systems, and driver performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of a large mixed fleet of lorries, vans, forklifts, and associated equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, operator licence requirements, health and safety standards, and vehicle regulations.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and inspection programmes.
• Monitor vehicle utilisation, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and overall fleet performance.
• Manage relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, leasing companies, and fuel suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records and provide regular management reporting on fleet costs, compliance, replenishment plans and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet productivity and reduce operating cost
