Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Bognor Regis is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to own a 550+ vehicle fleet, ensuring safety, compliance and availability while supporting the business.

You will manage DVSA compliance, oversee servicing and MOTs, analyse performance and costs, and build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams. The role offers progression, a probation period with a salary rise to 45k, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a large and varied fleet.
• Knowledge of DVSA regulations and road transport legislation.
• CPC Licence holder.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing the allocation, utilisation, and availability of courtesy vehicles
• Ensuring all vehicles are maintained and compliant with DVSA, fleet, and safety regulations
• Managing servicing, maintenance, inspections, MOTs, and vehicle compliance
• Monitoring driver compliance and ensuring fleet safety standards are maintained
• Analysing fleet performance, utilisation, maintenance trends, and operating costs
• Developing and monitoring fleet KPIs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Building strong relationships with operational, claims, regional, and site management teams
• Managing relationships with leasing companies, maintenance providers, transport contractors, and other suppliers
• Ensuring vehicle availability supports repair capacity and customer commitments
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximise fleet performance

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm | Saturdays as required

The Role

As Fleet Manager, you'll take ownership of a fleet of more than 550 vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, available, and operational while supporting the wider business.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager who is confident managing a large and varied vehicle fleet and can operate effectively within a fast-paced environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience managing a large and varied fleet
• Experience managing vehicles ranging from cars through to HGVs
• A CPC Licence
• Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations and road transport legislation
• Excellent understanding of vehicle compliance, maintenance, and safety requirements
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Experience managing external suppliers and service providersA commercially minded approach with the ability to monitor costs and improve fleet efficiency
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior management and operational teams
