Job summary

Stagecoach Kilmarnock is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a skilled team at our modern depot. You’ll own fleet maintenance, engineering operations and facilities, and help shape the evolution of our fleet including electric vehicles while ensuring safety and compliance.

Based at MacKinlay Place in Kilmarnock, you’ll manage 84 service buses and 5 training vehicles, drive day-to-day operations, resource planning, stock control and procurement, and develop your people for future

Qualifications

• Engineering experience in bus/coach/rail/plant/automotive sectors.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Safety-first, proactive mindset.
• Experience managing compliance, budgets, inventory and health & safety practices.
• Passion for high standards in vehicle performance and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of engineers, technicians, cleaners and apprentices to keep fleet safe and road-ready.
• Manage maintenance and presentation of 84 service buses and 5 training vehicles.
• Oversee depot plant and building maintenance, including compliance and health & safety.
• Manage day-to-day operations, resource planning, stock control and procurement.
• Coach and develop team members with focus on continuous improvement and talent planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering Director and gain exposure to regional projects.
