Job summary

Adore Recruitment Ltd. seeks an experienced Transport Compliance & Operations Manager to lead fleet compliance, health and safety, and driver management at our Rainham site.

You will collaborate with the Depot Manager to keep operations safe, compliant and efficient while guiding a team through busy, changing conditions. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive improvements in daily transport operations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, fleet, logistics or depot operations.
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance, vehicle safety and regulations.
• Experience overseeing inspections, defect reporting, maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Good understanding of health and safety within transport/operational environments.
• Proven experience managing drivers and operational teams.
• Ability to address non-compliance and drive safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle checks, defect reporting, maintenance records and transport documentation.
• Supervise and support drivers, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulations.
• Lead and coordinate operational staff, set priorities and drive accountability.
• Maintain safe practices across depot and transport operations, addressing risks.
• Monitor compliance records, identify issues and ensure corrective actions.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing and repairs to keep fleets safe for use.
• Schedule daily vehicle movements, driver shifts and job allocations.
• Resolve day-to-day issues and keep customer commitments.
• Identify opportunities to improve compliance, efficiency, safety and processes.
