Job summary

EMED Group is recruiting an Ambulance Fleet Assistant to join our team in Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire. You will help maintain the ambulance fleet across Thurmaston, Kibworth, Loughborough, Worksop, Mansfield and Nottingham, with fuel expenses covered between sites.

The role includes managing defects, updating Fleetcheck and coordinating maintenance tasks. You will support daily fleet activities, schedule repairs, control parts stock, and work to ensure high standards of safety and service

Qualifications

• Hold a full (manual) UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points.
• Experience using practical and mechanical skills.
• Ability to perform vehicle deep cleans to a high standard.
• Always demonstrate a positive and professional approach to customers and colleagues.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, including tight deadlines and initiative.
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong team working.
• Demonstrate drive, determination and motivation to achieve targets.

Responsibilities

• Repair, service and maintain products/equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Schedule and perform vehicle deep cleans with supporting documentation.
• Ensure vehicle defects are promptly cleared with documentation uploaded.
• Maintain basic spare parts stock and report defects as per process.
• Work safely and comply with Health & Safety and COSHH.
• Report incidents to Fleet management and assist with disposal documentation.

Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ambulance Fleet Assistant (AFA) to join our team based in Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire.

This is a regional role and covers our bases in Thurmaston, Kibworth, Loughborough, Worksop, Mansfield and Nottingham. Fuel expenses are covered between sites.

The AFA position is to ensure full compliance of routine scheduled mechanical, ancillary equipment at all times. You will ensure reported defects are rectified in a timely manner whilst ensuring the fleet management system (Fleetcheck) is updated daily to reflect maintenance events that have been completed.

The role will manage VOR (vehicle off road) and update daily, ensure defects are cleared with supporting documentation uploaded. Cover scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repairs in an efficient and effective manner. Control parts stock levels ensuring these are replenished as used.

Duties include:

• To repair, service and maintain product/equipment as per the manufacturer’s guidelines as required e.g. top up washer fluid, oil change, change bulbs and wipers.
• Schedule and perform vehicle deep cleans to a high standard, completing all supporting documentation.
• Ensure any vehicle defects are promptly cleared and supporting documentation is completed.
• Ensure adequate supply of basic spare parts are available and maintained within the contract and any defects reported as per the defect process.
• Work safely, ensuring Health and Safety and COSHH regulations are adhered to.
• Advise Fleet management team where a product cannot be successfully repaired to a safe standard.
• Report equipment that had been involved in an incident, to the Fleet management team.
• Ensure all vehicles for disposal are de-kitted before collection and a log of all equipment has been taken.

To be considered as an AFA, you need to:
