As our Fleet Ambassador, your key objectives include:
- Ensuring all vehicles are checked for condition and roadworthiness, in compliance with legal, corporate, and operational standards, reporting exceptions via the vehicle check app and defect procedure.
- Verifying that drivers identify and report defects correctly, and ensuring rectification.
- Conducting start and end of contract handovers for Owner Driver leased vehicles, including employment, termination, vehicle swaps, and hire vans.
- Providing support to depot operations through regular site and equipment checks.
- Reporting fleet accidents on our portal TranMan.
Key Daily Checks
- Inspect all fleet and rental vehicles daily, recording their condition via the Vehicle App.
- Ensure all 3.5 Tonne Vans do not exceed 3.5 tonnes using the weighbridge.
- VOR (vehicle off road) inspection and damage reporting for vehicles.
- Check all associated equipment, including material handling tools, jump packs, fuel pumps, and enclosures.
- Adhere to health and safety rules, maintaining clear traffic flow and effective parking.
- Ensure drivers wear correct DPD uniforms and that vehicles are clean and meet company standards.
Key Weekly Checks
- Populate 21-day notices for damaged Owner Driver vehicles via the app.
- Record notices in a shared Google Calendar with the Transport Team.
- Review outstanding notices with the Depot Quality or Depot Manager.
- Conduct weekly checks and download data from the HGV fleet to identify discrepancies.
- Check and reorder fleet stock items (lamps, bulbs, etc.) as needed.
- Ensure the gritter is operational and clean during winter, reporting defects to the Regional Transport Engineer.
