Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting three Engagement Mentoring Officers on a fixed-term basis until March 2028. The roles will involve engaging with residents to access employment and training, mentoring and supporting individuals on their career journeys, and monitoring progress on funded projects.

Applicants should have IAG Level 3 or equivalent, at least two years' experience in Post 16 education and/or employment and skills, and proven mentoring and caseload management

Qualifications

• IAG Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in Post 16 education and/or employment skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and managing a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Sandwell residents to access employment and training opportunities.
• Mentor and support individuals in activities, training, and/or workplace to sustain career pathways.
• Monitor and report progression of individuals in their development.
• Identify progression into employment following support.
• Work on externally funded contracts aimed at moving residents closer to the labour market.
