Job summary

Sandwell Council is recruiting 3 Engagement Mentoring Officers on a fixed-term basis until March 2028. You will engage with Sandwell residents to access employment and training, and mentor them within activities, training and/or the workplace to support their career pathways.

You will monitor progress and report outcomes, and identify progression into employment after support on externally funded contracts aimed at moving residents closer to the labour market.

Qualifications

• IAG Level 3 or equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years' experience in Post 16 Education and Learning and/or Employment and Skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching and managing a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Sandwell residents to access employment and training opportunities.
• Mentor and support individuals in activities, training and/or workplace, ensuring progression along their career pathway.
• Monitor and report progression of participants and support progression into employment.
