Job summary

Holland & Barrett is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to own the fixed asset accounting space, ensuring correct capitalisation, monthly reporting, and balance sheet reconciliation. You will challenge postings and collaborate with Finance colleagues to ensure CAPEX is treated correctly.

You will also manage Office for National Statistics submissions, drive process improvements, and support audit trails.

Qualifications

• Understanding fixed asset accounting and capitalisation rules.
• Ability to review expenditure and determine Capex vs Opex with justification.
• Maintain a high-quality fixed asset register with clear categorisation and supporting records.
• Work with Finance Partners to challenge postings and investigate unusual transactions.

Responsibilities

• Own the fixed asset process, from capitalisation through to monthly reporting and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Review expenditure and apply judgement around Capex versus Opex, making sure accounting treatment is appropriate and supported.
• Maintain a high-quality fixed asset register with clear descriptions, categorisation and supporting records.
• Work with Finance Business Partners to understand projects, challenge postings and get underneath unusual or unclear transactions.
• Prepare and submit accurate, timely ONS surveys, supported by robust financial data.
• Keep a close eye on work in progress, helping ensure assets are capitalised at the right time.
• Support month-end reporting and provide clear audit trails for internal and external audit.
• Challenge existing processes and look for opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate the work.
