Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is seeking a Fitter based in Crewe to maintain rail vehicles in line with laid-down procedures at our Crewe depot. You will report to the team leader and ensure timely, quality maintenance work.

The role requires a Level 3 Engineering qualification and hands-on rail vehicle maintenance experience, with a solid understanding of depot operations and the ability to read engineering drawings. A strong mechanical or electrical engineering background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
• Experience in rail vehicle maintenance.
• Good understanding of depot operations and reading engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as allocated by the Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
• Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
• Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
• Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
• Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.

The Role:

Working in our Crewe depot and reporting into the team leader you will be responsible for providing maintenance of rail vehicles to the laid down procedures.

What You Bring:

• Qualifications – minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Engineering
• Experience – involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
• Knowledge – good understanding of depot operations with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Engineering – strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering
