Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a skilled maintenance fitter to join its aerospace MRO operations in the United Kingdom. The role involves disassembling, testing and repairing safety equipment for slides, rafts and sub-components, followed by careful reassembly per OEM packing instructions and relevant manuals.

You will work within a small team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and strict quality standards while maintaining high workmanship.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at minimum
• OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment is highly desirable

Job Purpose

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• To disassemble, test, fault find and repair various safety equipment for slides, rafts and their sub components.
• To reassemble a variety of safety equipment, slides, rafts and their sub components in accordance with CMM’s / OHM’s and OEM packing instructions.

Qualifications

• Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
• OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment (highly desirable)

Experience

• Experience of repairing and packing aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
• Previous experience of working in an engineering/workshop environment (highly desirable)
• Prior experience working of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals.

• Working within a small team of skilled fitters, reliability, flexibility and team work are key skill requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships
• Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multi task whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Strong communicator (written and verbal)
• Positive, enthusiastic, confident and motivated
