Job summary

Arriva TrainCare in Crewe is seeking a Fitter/Electrician to maintain rail vehicles to laid down procedures, reporting to the Team Leader at the Crewe depot. You may operate rail vehicles within depot limits and ensure timely, compliant work delivery.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, plus rail vehicle maintenance experience and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in rail vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
  • Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
  • Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
  • Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.
