About the Job

As a Fitness Manager at Lampton Leisure, you will oversee the daily operations of the fitness department and team, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and high-quality customer experience. You will conduct at least two duty manager shifts per week, manage team performance, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support high standards.

You will also serve as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the site during your shifts. Our sites operate from 6am to 10pm, so flexibility in working hours is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional fitness experience, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and staff are knowledgeable and supportive
  • Perform duty manager duties, including opening and closing the site, handling H&S incidents, safeguarding concerns, and conducting pool safety checks
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers, handling complaints appropriately
  • Review and improve fitness equipment, programs, and activities
  • Manage the fitness budget, stock, and inventories
  • Support the centre in achieving targets and KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, addressing issues promptly
  • Lead, coach, and develop the fitness team, keeping them updated on industry developments and promoting active lifestyles
Experience and Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Fitness Manager
  • Minimum Level 2 fitness qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to work towards or hold a First Aid at Work Qualification
  • Ability to work towards or hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • Proactive with the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Strong mentoring, motivation, coaching, and development skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to first-class customer service
