Job summary

CV Life is seeking an enthusiastic Fitness Instructor to join the Lifestyles Health and Fitness Team at its Coventry venues, including modern Technogym facilities. The role requires a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification and a commitment to delivering high‑quality customer experiences in a busy fitness suite.

You will be responsible for inductions, personal programmes, progress reviews and supervising sessions, while maintaining safety and cleanliness across the facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification.
• Experience in working within a fitness suite preferred.
• DBS Clearance will be required for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

• Supervise delivery of health and fitness sessions and maintain customer progress records.
• Provide introduction sessions on equipment usage to new users and conduct induction/fitness testing sessions.
• Promote and publicise the Fitness Suite and activities to target groups and communities.
• Visit venues outside the Centre to promote CV Life activities.
• Set up and dismantle equipment for sessions as required.
• Follow all operating policies and procedures for the fitness suite.
• Maintain high standards of customer care and address enquiries/ complaints.
• Attend training and refresher courses to maintain qualifications.
• Contribute to the development of FE and Work Placement students.
• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained and equipment is used safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Fitness Suite and report faults.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies as per Health & Safety policy.
• Attend relevant meetings as appropriate.

CV Life is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate Fitness Instructor to join our ever growing and successful Lifestyles Health and Fitness Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fitness Instructor to work in modern, high tech fitness suites situated across our sports centres, including the brand new Technogym Biocircuit.

This is a unique opportunity to develop both personally and professionally in the Fitness Industry. Candidates must have a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification as well as having a keen desire to learn new skills.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Learning good product knowledge on all the Wellness packages we offer.The principal place of employment will be Centre AT7 which has free on-site parking and good transport links from Coventry city centre.
• You will play an important role in helping customers achieve their fitness goals by developing client relationships.
• Assisting the Fitness Operations Manager in the daily operation of our Fitness Suites.
• Providing gym inductions, completing personal programmes, booking reviews to monitor progress and conducting fitness assessments.
• Undertake regular maintenance and cleaning duties, report faults and ensure the fitness suite is safe, friendly and welcoming for our customers.

DBS Clearance will be required for the successful candidate.

Scope

Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry are independent organisations who work collaboratively through CV Life, so that this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment contracts held with either Culture Coventry Trust or Coventry Sports Foundation.

Overall purpose and objective of the role:

To assist the Fitness Operations Manager in the daily operation of the Fitness Suite.

Main duties of the role:

• To supervise the delivery of health and fitness sessions and maintain systems for customer record keeping of progress.
• To provide introduction sessions regarding equipment usage to all new users and induction / fitness testing sessions as required.
• To assist in promoting and publicising the Fitness Suite and its associated activities / programme, particularly to the target groups of the Company.
• To visit venues outside of the Centre to promote the activities of the Fitness Suite / Company.
• To erect and dismantle equipment as required for particular sessions.
• To be familiar with and work within all operating policies and procedures appropriate to provision of the fitness suite.
• To ensure that a high standard of customer care is maintained at all times, and to respond to all customer enquiries/complaints effectively and efficiently.
• To attend training/refresher courses as are appropriate to maintain qualifications and standards of good practice.
• To contribute to the professional development and guidance of Further Education and Work Placement students.
• To ensure that adequate standards of Health and Safety are maintained at all times, paying particular attention to the use of equipment.
• To ensure that the Fitness Suite is cleaned and maintained to a standard that is appropriate to the demands and concerns of all users.
• To be aware and able to respond to all emergency situations in accordance with the procedures detailed in the Company’s Health & Safety policy.
• To attend any relevant meetings as appropriate
