Projects/Contracts Manager Joinery Fit-Out

Location: London & Home Counties (West Essex HQ)
Salary: Up to GBP65,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm

About the Company Our client, based in West Essex, is a fast-growing, design-led joinery contractor delivering bespoke, high-quality fit-out solutions across the commercial, public, and high-end residential sectors. With in-house design, manufacturing, and installation capabilities, they pride themselves on innovation, precision, and customer service excellence. Their 80-strong team operates from a state-of-the-art factory and office site, producing standout joinery solutions for blue-chip clients, local authorities, and luxury developments.

The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Projects/Contracts Manager to oversee multiple high-spec joinery fit-out projects across London and the surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will come from a carpentry or joinery background and have a strong track record managing internal fit-out works from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with Directors, clients, architects, designers, and the factory team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Projects/Contracts Manager Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple joinery supply and fit-out projects from design through to final handover
• Liaise with clients, architects, and designers to ensure project alignment and satisfaction
• Coordinate with on-site fitters, subcontractors, factory teams, and suppliers
• Oversee schedules, site logistics, and health & safety compliance
• Ensure all works meet company quality standards and client expectations
• Read and interpret technical drawings (CAD/SolidWorks experience advantageous)
• Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
• Support the delivery of bespoke joinery including furniture, reception desks, doorsets, and wall cladding

Projects/Contracts Manager Candidate Profile

• Proven experience managing high-end joinery or interior fit-out projects
• Strong technical background in carpentry/joinery (hands-on experience ideal)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills confident dealing with clients and teams
• Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
