Job Introduction

• 40 hours per week, on a 5/6 Rota
• Working hours: 14:00 - 22:00
• £16.56 per hour plus 10% shift allowance

We are recruiting for a Transport First Line Manager to join our Transport team in Wigan. You will lead a team of delivery drivers, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Transport Manager, your duties will include:

• Leading, motivating, coaching, and developing your team of service delivery crews and Team Leaders
• Optimising fleet utilization, resource planning, and controlling costs
• Ensuring legal compliance and safety standards
• Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies
• Managing team development, including training on driver CPC, standards, and installation
• Making timely decisions to protect customer service and delivery schedules
• Managing on-site resources to meet customer needs flexibly

The Ideal Candidate

We require candidates who meet the following essential criteria:

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Leader/Supervisor in transport
• Knowledge of Road Transport Regulations and a national CPC
• Adherence to ‘O’ Licence requirements
• Full UK driving license
• Experience in improving transport operations and operational excellence
• Strong influencing, coaching, and development skills
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
