Job summary

Fortrea is seeking a Pharmacist I for its Leeds DRAPERS Yard CRU to contribute to the preparation and handling of investigational medicines in first‑in‑human studies. This on‑site, full-time role sits in a specialist clinical trials pharmacy team and offers exposure to live early‑phase research with MHRA accreditation.

You will work closely with pharmacy, clinic and quality teams, gaining real‑time insight into GMP processes and IMP handling, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Master of Pharmacy degree from an accredited university.
• Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK.
• Experience as a pharmacist in clinical research, hospital, or industry settings.
• Exposure to clinical trials or investigational medicines is a plus.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; able to support sponsor/auditor visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle investigational medicinal products (IMP) within a clean room environment using GMP methods during live early‑phase studies.
• Participate in pharmacy production, including preparation, assembly and dispensing of study medications.
• Collaborate with Technical Officers to support operations, study readiness and safe handling of materials.
• Assist study set‑up activities, including manuals, batch records, preparation logs and dose calculations.
• Maintain and check pharmacy equipment in line with SOPs and ensure it is fit for purpose.
• Monitor storage conditions for investigational products to ensure integrity and compliance.
