Job summary

ECCO is seeking a Firmware Engineering Team Lead to guide the firmware team in designing, developing, and testing firmware for emergency and safety vehicle equipment and electric vehicles. You will plan, execute, and evaluate managed projects to deliver on time and within budget, while coordinating with other engineering teams.

In this role you will oversee technology deployment, drive continuous improvements, and develop the team across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' practical engineering experience with at least 3 years' embedded C.
• Automotive industry and leadership experience would be advantageous.
• Extensive knowledge of microcontroller and peripheral firmware design.
• Deep understanding of firmware development tools and processes.
• Proven experience in new product innovation and development.
• Ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks; strong communication and organisation.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Guide the Firmware Engineering Team in designing, developing, and testing firmware products.
• Oversee technology deployment and systems architecture for firmware.
• Contribute to conceptualisation and testing of new firmware products.
• Manage team operations, documentation, and records.
• Allocate team members with Project Engineering Team to ensure progress.
• Drive training and professional development; monitor KPIs for leadership reporting.
• Identify process improvements aligned with business goals.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and voice of the customer in design.
