Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy in Waterlooville, Hampshire is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer at an early-career level. You’ll develop firmware and hardware alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience across firmware, electronics and product development.

The role focuses on load monitoring and measurement solutions, with opportunities to work on wireless sensor boards, PCB design and calibration, while benefiting from mentoring and a clear path to grow in embedded systems.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in Electronics, Embedded Systems, CS or related field.
1–3 years in embedded development or related projects.
Basic C/C++ programming and microcontroller exposure.
Familiarity with schematic capture/PCB layout tools preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain embedded hardware and firmware solutions.
Use C/C++ for embedded firmware and work with microcontrollers in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
Assist with drivers, interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART) and PCB/prototype validation.
Collaborate with firmware, hardware, mechanical and production teams to move projects toward production.
