Job summary

FireLight in the UK is recruiting a brand new fire and security engineer apprentice to join their team. As an apprentice you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on access control, video surveillance, intruder alarms, fire alarms and lockdown systems.

You'll train through Skills for Security at the Walsall centre, completing a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship. The programme combines hands-on learning with on-site support.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older due to site access requirements.
• Full UK driving license required for this role.
• Electrical experience would be a bonus.
• Willing and able to pass an enhanced DBS background check.
• Comfortable working at height.

Responsibilities

• Train hands-on with real fire and security systems (Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intruder Alarms, Fire Alarms, Lockdown Systems).
• Learn from industry experts while supporting installation, servicing and fault-finding tasks.
• Complete a range of tasks and projects to build evidence for learning.
• Sit annual assessments at the training centre.
• Employer support on site with focus on training and progression.

FireLight are a UK-based fire and security installer specialising in regulation-led fire detection, life safety systems consultancy, and integrated security solutions. They offer installation, servicing, maintenance and risk assessments. They are now looking to recruit a brand new fire and security engineer apprentice to join their team!

Job Description

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

• Access Control
• Video Surveillance
• Intruder Alarms
• Fire Alarms
• Lockdown Systems

Entry Requirements

• 18+ due to certain construction site age requirements - please do not apply if you are under 18
• A full UK driving license is required for this role
• Electrical experience would be a bonus
• Willing and able to pass an enhanced DBS background check
• Comfortable working at height, due to the nature of the role
• Eager to learn more about the wider fire and security industry

Training to be Provided

This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Walsall centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
