Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United Kingdom is seeking a Fire Systems Service Technician to install and service fire alarm and suppression systems across customer sites.

You will bring a strong electrical background, fault-finding skills, and knowledge of gaseous suppression, water mist, or fire detection technologies. FIA qualifications or equivalent certifications are preferred, and a Full UK driving licence is essential. Expect nationwide travel and long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Experience with fire alarm and/or fire suppression systems.
• Strong electrical background with fault-finding and troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of fire protection technologies such as gaseous suppression, water mist, sprinkler, or fire detection systems.
• FIA qualifications or other relevant fire industry certifications.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel nationwide with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Installing fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
• Diagnosing faults and completing remedial repairs to ensure systems remain compliant and operational.
• Working on a range of fire suppression technologies, including water mist and gaseous suppression systems.
• Conducting testing and inspections of life safety systems.
• Completing accurate service reports and maintenance documentation.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company, customer, and industry standards.
• Providing professional technical support and building strong customer relationships.
• Collaborating with project and service teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
