Job summary
Johnson Controls is recruiting a Fire Systems Technician to install, commission and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites in Birmingham. You will work with Gent, Advanced, Kentec and other leading manufacturers, ensuring systems stay compliant and operational.
Role requires fault-finding, reading technical drawings and strong customer service. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in the fire protection industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and servicing.
- Good understanding of BS 5839 and industry standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings and system documentation.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm systems to BS 5839.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and fault finding.
- Programme/configure fire alarm control panels and networks.
- Complete upgrades and remedial works.
- Service and test gaseous and water-mist suppression systems.
- Attend reactive call-outs and support commissioning/decommissioning tasks.
- Conduct site surveys and provide customer support.
- Adhere to quality, health & safety standards.
