Fixatex Ltd is seeking a seasoned Fire & Security Supervisor to lead our Peabody contract from our Hertford base. You’ll direct engineers and subcontractors, ensure compliance and certify work before client delivery.

You’ll own technical quality, drive inspections, maintain safety standards under Building Safety Act and related regulations, and mentor a skilled team across North London.

Competenze

• Experience supervising fire safety and/or security maintenance in social housing, the public sector or regulated residential settings.
• Experience leading BAFE SP203-1 accredited activities.
• In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems and associated fire safety equipment.
• Track record of managing specialist subcontractors across disciplines such as emergency lighting, lightning protection, height safety or PV.
• Familiar with certificate management software and Microsoft 365.

The Role

We re looking for a Fire & Security Supervisor to be the technical lead on our Peabody Fire & Security contract.

This is a senior, hands-on role. You ll make sure every inspection, service, repair and remedial across fire safety and security systems is safe, compliant and done properly. You ll lead and develop our engineers and specialist operatives, hold our subcontractors to a high standard, and sign off certification before it reaches the client. When a compliance question needs a definitive answer, you ll be the person who gives it.

You ll report to the Peabody Fire & Security Contracts Manager, with a dotted line to our Technical Manager. You ll be based at our Hertford office and supervise work across North London.

Key Responsibilties

Leading the team

• Supervising, coaching and developing engineers and specialist operatives
• Delivering technical training, toolbox talks and competency workshops
• Acting as the main escalation point for technical and compliance issues

Owning technical quality

• Overseeing planned maintenance, inspections, testing, reactive repairs and remedials
• Carrying out site inspections, quality checks and post-inspections
• Reviewing and approving all certification and reports before they go to the client
• Getting hands-on with testing, fault finding and commissioning when needed

Managing subcontractors

• Onboarding specialist subcontractors and reviewing their RAMS
• Auditing their work and monitoring performance across all compliance disciplines

Keeping us compliant

• Ensuring work meets the Building Safety Act, Electrical Safety Standards Regulations, Awaab s Law and CDM 2015
• Driving strong audit performance across the contract

Keeping work moving

• Preparing quotes and variations
• Managing work in progress so jobs are completed on time

Systems you ll oversee

Fire alarms, AOVs, evacuation alert systems, EVC and EACIE, emergency lighting, UPS and generators, door entry, access control, CCTV, automatic doors and gates, warden call and IRS.

What You ll Bring

Experience supervising fire safety and/or security maintenance in social housing, the public sector or regulated residential settings

• Experience leading BAFE SP203-1 accredited activities
• FIA qualifications or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems and associated fire safety equipment
• A track record of managing specialist subcontractors across disciplines such as emergency lighting, lightning protection, height safety or PV
• Confidence with mobile workforce systems, certificate management software and Microsoft 365
