Job summary

Survitec Group Limited is seeking a Fire Service Technician to join our Birkenhead team. You will inspect, service and repair fire safety equipment and breathing apparatus across vessels and offshore environments, helping protect lives through hands‑on maintenance and fault finding.

The role involves travel across the UK with occasional international assignments, a variable schedule including occasional weekend work and extended hours, and clear opportunities for training, professional

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing fire safety equipment and breathing apparatus (marine or offshore).
• Strong skills in inspections, testing, and compliance reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A valid, full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to travel for offshore work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Service and repair extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, and breathing apparatus.
• Manage testing, shutdowns, and urgent repairs when required.
• Safely transport, install, and return customer equipment.
• Keep accurate compliance records and documentation.
• Provide expert technical advice and customer support.
• Travel for training, offshore service, and urgent projects.

Vacancy Title: Fire Service Technician

The Role:

Survitec Group’s Fire operations are growing, and we’re now looking for a Fire Service Technician to join our team in Birkenhead.

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in protecting lives by inspecting, servicing and repairing fire safety equipment and breathing apparatus across vessels and offshore environments.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with industry-leading equipment as part of a global leader in marine safety, with travel across the UK and occasional international assignments.

Flexibility is important in this role. While we respect and aim to accommodate individual needs, the nature of our operations means that occasional weekend work and extended hours will be required.

This is a hands-on opportunity offering plenty of variety, travel, technical challenges and genuine scope for professional development and career growth.

Key responsibilities for the Fire Service Technician role include but are not limited to:

• Carry out preventive maintenance and safety inspections
• Service & repair extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, fire blankets, fire detection systems, and breathing apparatus
• Manage testing, shutdowns, and urgent repairs when required
• Safely transport, install, and return customer equipment
• Keep accurate compliance records and documentation
• Provide expert technical advice and customer support
• Travel for training, offshore service, and urgent projects
